Based in Byron Bay and featuring the powerful, deep voice and shamanistic presence of Priscilla Rios, Meninas da Lua (Moon Girls) is a vibrant, high spirited, feminine percussion, vocal and dance collective, that pay homage to the deep roots of Afro Brazilian culture, and whospecialize in the traditional African-infused rhythms from the north-east: the Coco, Ijexa, Maracatu, Samba de Roda and Afoxe; calling upon the power of the Orixas to bless and guide us.
