PARISSA BOUAS – Teaching Artist 


Apart from being an excellent performer, songwriter and singer, Parissa Bouas has an innate ability for teaching.  Her enthusiasm for her subject is inspiring and her hallmark generosity on stage extends to her workshops.  As a result  Parissa’s workshops are highly sought after at festivals, universities, high schools, arts centres and music camps across Australia, working alongside the best leaders: Rachel Hore, Stephen Taberner, JoJo Smith, Carl Panuzzo, Fay White,  Kavisha Mazzella, Linsey Pollack, Stiff Gins, Joe Dolce, Richard Lawton…


Parissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Music and has lectured and tutored at Southern Cross University and Northern Rivers Conservatourium between 1995 and 2013.  She travels the world performing with folk/world act, The Hottentots, with whom she recorded 6 award winning  albums. Her debut solo album was released in 2013  to critical acclaim, radio airplay and won Song of the Year, Best Jazz and Best World Music.


When not touring, Parissa runs singing workshops and choirs in Byron Bay and maintains a busy private voice studio.
